Integrative Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
Steve is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, board-certified and dual licensed in Colorado and Florida. He is a WMA Wilderness First Responder, Colorado Special Tactics and Rescue Team volunteer, and a Unit Coordinator and Training Specialist for the Colorado Acupuncture Medical Reserve Corps (CAMRC), the nation’s first acupuncture based federally approved MRC responding to disasters and critical incidents.
Steve is extensively trained and experienced in Integrative Acupuncture, Nutrition, TCM Oncology, Health & Fitness, Remote Wilderness Medicine, Global Health, Disaster Mental Health, and Emergency Response.
He is a national and international speaker and educator on Integrative Acupuncture, Nutrition, Disaster Response, PTSD/Traumatic Stress and Suicide, TCM Oncology, Wilderness/Remote Medicine, Health and Fitness, and Auricular Acupuncture.
Steve is a WMA Wilderness Medical Instructor, NCCAOM PDA (continuing education) provider and subject matter expert on the Veteran's Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DOD).
Steve’s deployments include; Hurricane Katrina & Wilma 2005, Tropical Storm Fay 2008, Tropical Storm Beryl 2012, Boulder Floods 2013, Yucatan, Mexico 2013, Craigslist Fetal Abduction Longmont, CO 2015, Planned Parenthood Shooting 2015, Pulse Shooting 2016, Cold Springs and Lightner Creek Fires 2016, Syria/Jordan 2017, Ukwala, Kenya 2017.
In addition, he has consulted and provided logistics for numerous other disaster and critical incidents domestically and internationally. He developed the "Resiliency Protocol" and continues his research in auricular acupuncture for emergency responders and traumatic stress, PTSD, and suicide.
When Steve is not teaching or providing care he can be found (usually barefoot) studying traditional and cultural medicines, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking, trekking, snowshoeing, or traveling the world.
